Welcome to Psychological Statistics Wiki!

The course of Psychological Statistics is a core specialized course for undergraduate psychology students, mainly covering statistical theory, statistical methods, and data analysis techniques, particularly focusing on how these knowledge can be applied in psychological research. The course includes descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, probability theory, hypothesis testing, correlation analysis, regression analysis, analysis of variance, as well as factor analysis, cluster analysis, and an introduction to multivariate statistics. In addition, this course requires students to master JASP for psychological statistical analysis.
The importance of learning psychological statistics lies in: 1) Scientific research: Psychology is an empirical science that relies on data to understand human thought and behavior. Statistics is a tool used to analyze these data, which can help researchers to draw credible conclusions. 2) Data interpretation: Psychological statistics can not only help us understand research results, but also help us understand statistical data in daily life, such as news reporting, policy decision-making, etc. 3)Critical thinking: Learning psychological statistics can help us develop critical thinking skills, enabling us to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of a research design more accurately, as well as the credibility of research results. 4) Professional development: For those who want to engage in psychological research or related professions, psychological statistics is an essential skill. Understanding statistical concepts and techniques can increase employment opportunities, and it will also play a greater role in work.
While researcher Chaogan Yan taught the course “Psychological Statistics” to UCAS undergraduate students, the students have written a Wikipedia of Psychological Statistics for reference. (P.S.: There are still many bugs in this wiki, which will be maintained and updated by subsequent students)
Researcher Yan Chaogan's lecture video of “Psychological Statistics” has been compiled into a MOOC, and you can learn online for free:
